Explanatory Note

This Bill limits the increase in the taxable assessed value of qualified properties to the lesser of 2.5% and the increase in the Consumer Price Index for Nova Scotia.

An Act to Amend Chapter 23
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Assessment Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Clause 45A(1)(d) of Chapter 23 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Assessment Act, as enacted by Chapter 24 of the Acts of 2006, is amended by adding "lesser of 2.5% and the" immediately after "the" in the fifth line.
