An Act to Establish Joseph Howe Day

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the Joseph Howe Day Act.

2 The third Monday of February in each year shall be kept and observed throughout the Province under the name of Joseph Howe Day.

3 Clause 7(1)(j) of Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Interpretation Act, is amended by adding "Joseph Howe Day," immediately before "Labour" in the fifth line.

4 Subsection 37(1) of Chapter 246 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Labour Standards Code, is amended by adding "Joseph Howe Day," immediately before "Good" in the second line.

5 Clause 2(e) of Chapter 402 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Retail Business Uniform Closing Day Act, is amended by adding immediately after subclause (iv) the following subclause:

(iva) Joseph Howe Day,

6 Clause 2(a) of an Act passed in the present session of the Hose of Assembly, the Retail Business Designated Day Closing Act, is amended by adding immediately after subclause (iv) the following subclause:

(iva) Joseph Howe Day,
