MR. CLARRIE MACKINNON: I just want to reiterate that this side of the House has real leadership as we go into the future. We are not looking at the Headless Horsemen on the other side of the aisle, Mr. Speaker, and that just came to mind, looking at them. Thank you.

MR. SPEAKER: Excuse me. Before I recognize the honourable member for Hants West, I would suggest that "Headless Horsemen" is probably not parliamentary language. I would ask the member for Pictou East to retract that statement.

MADAM SPEAKER: Order, please. The honourable member is not allowed to use the terminology "influence peddling". I would ask you to retract that terminology - rephrase it.

MR. MORTON: I'll retract that phrase. Madam Speaker, I'd like to table an article, nonetheless, from the Charlottetown Guardian, from June 1999, to remind the Leader of the Official Opposition and to remind, in fact, all Nova Scotians that the Liberal Party's track record on economic development is questionable, at best.

HON. CHRISTOPHER D'ENTREMONT: Maybe the Minister of Justice over there, I kind of like him, he's okay, I'm not going to say much about him, but the Minister of Community Services right now, I can't believe that she's there barking away, that she's over there yelling these things across. She has no foundation in any of those accusations - absolutely none - so I can't imagine why she continues to do that. Put the headphones on and ignore me like you normally do - that's what you do to the rest of the people in this House of Assembly, which is absolutely shameful.

MR. SPEAKER: Order, please. I remind all honourable members that while the honourable member for Halifax Clayton Park has the floor, I would appreciate that the tone of the heckling be toned down a little bit this morning, please. I don't think that the comment "the Princess of Pessimism" is parliamentary-appropriate in this Chamber so I would ask the honourable member to please retract that statement this morning.

The honourable member for Lunenburg West.

MR. GARY RAMEY: Mr. Speaker, I retract that comment. Thank you.

2013-12-05_0412_SS: Unparliamentary description of Premier

MR. BAILLIE: Mr. Speaker, I see that the old, angry, attack dog Premier has now returned. Let me just say, first of all, that nothing he just said is accurate. I negotiated no such thing - and for the benefit of all members of this House, I did work in a Premier's Office once and I did leave and my severance was exactly zero dollars. So let's be clear about that.

...

MR. SPEAKER: Before I recognize the honourable Premier, I want to remind the honourable Leader of the Official Opposition to keep the language parliamentary in the description of the Premier, please.

HON. BRENDAN MAGUIRE: Every morning that I come in and drive to work, I go up Quinpool Road and through the Rotary, I see three or four tent encampments. Every day, we're inundated with people who are looking for housing. It's been going on for quite some time. To stop and say we have to pause, we have to think about things, and we have to go through it - well that's complete BS, because people are tired of having people say we need to pause, we need to have another design, we need to have these other things . . .

ELIZABETH SMITH-MCCROSSIN: I know that that may sound idealistic, and certainly it's probably easier to just railroad things through. I don't know if I can use the word "bully," or "intimidate," or "lead from a place of fear." Like if you don't listen and do what we want . . . (Interruption)

THE SPEAKER: Order. Order. I'd ask the member to retract the word "bully," please. It's unparliamentary.

The honourable member for Cumberland North.
