ELIZABETH SMITH-MCCROSSIN: I'd like to rise on a point of privilege. During my question period, the minister gave a response that the member opposite is great at identifying fear. I submit that that is restricting my privilege. As a woman in this Chamber, I should be able to speak on behalf of my constituents and other members and not try to be intimidated and harassed that I'm creating fear in this Chamber from a man.

THE SPEAKER: I don't see any infringement of the member here. We have free speech in this House. We will now move on.

MS. DIANA WHALEN: Mr. Speaker, I rise in my place today on a point of privilege. I believe the government has shown contempt for the Public Accounts Committee, the Auditor General, and by extension the House of Assembly, by refusing full access to the documents requested by the Auditor General related to his full-scope audit of the Nominee Program.

On October 30, 2008, the honourable member for Halifax Clayton Park rose on a point of privilege relating to the events, she alleges, of some significance, that it impeded or prevented her from doing her work as a member of the Public Accounts Committee and as a member of this House.

MR. FRANK CORBETT: Mr. Speaker, I rise to outline a point of privilege regarding these remarks made late yesterday by the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture and recorded in Hansard on Page 5234: "Staff right now are currently working on the lending rules in process for the new program. Our target date to have this program up and running is April, 2009. We're on target and we are very confident we will have money going out the door to lobster fishermen. I'm not sure we're going to give any money to the lobster fishermen in the areas that the NDP represent but, anyway.

MR. DAVID WILSON (Glace Bay): Thank you, Mr. Speaker. I rise on a point of privilege, because earlier today I feel that my privileges as a member of this House . . .

MS. DIANA WHALEN: Thank you very much and, Mr. Speaker, I rise on a point of privilege. Whereas the minister has not provided the names of who he met with in the Build it Right group, and today I tabled a letter where the group executive had denied meeting with the minister, although they have made repeated requests and would like to, I believe that the Minister of Health Promotion and Protection has misled the House and I would like to ask you to rule again on this point of privilege.

MR. SPEAKER: Before we continue, yesterday the honourable member for Halifax Clayton Park rose on a point of privilege. After reviewing the information that was supplied to me and checking with Hansard, I believe what we have is a disagreement between two members.

MS. DIANA WHALEN: Mr. Speaker, I rise today on a point of privilege. Last week in Question Period, I asked a question about the plans for the Mainland Common Recreation Centre and, in his answer, the Minister of Health Promotion and Protection said that he has met with members of the Build it Right group. I have asked the executive of Build it Right if they have met the minister and they've confirmed that they have been requesting a meeting for months and have yet to be granted one.

MR. GRAHAM STEELE: Mr. Speaker, on a point of order. During Question Period today, the Premier, in reply to a question that I raised, denied having said that staff made mistakes. For the sake of completeness, I would like to table Hansard from yesterday where the Premier said, "We saw mistakes made by staff."

MR. SPEAKER: It appears that the member has a point. (Interruptions)
