Province House 200 Logo
The logo represents the building with its wealth of architecture and unique details. Inspiration for the logo comes from a circular window above the Granville St. entrance. The window’s pattern and shape is repeated throughout the House. The circular shape implies movement, openness and unity. It is a symbol of eternity and celebrates the longevity of Province House. The window represents a place for looking inward and outward, it is a place to look out and see a province that is moving in a positive direction or look in and see an impressive past. The Caslon font from the logo was used in Joseph Howe’s newspaper Nova Scotian in the 1840s while the blue is based on a historic colour from the period.
