MS. SUZANNE LOHNES-CROFT: Incorporating actors from the very young to the very experienced, the South Shore Players truly are a community group. Opportunities are afforded to any and all who wish to try their luck in the world of amateur acting. Mind you, this is no amateur organization. The Players are always well-directed, well-run and well-acted. If you happen to find yourself in the Lunenburg area sometime during the aforementioned dates, I urge you to buy a ticket and come enjoy the show. Thank you.

HON. LENA DIAB: Mr. Speaker, I rise to bring attention to all members of the House, as well as the public, and to congratulate what we formally knew as Immigration Settlement and Immigration Services. Today is the launch of their new name, and I want to congratulate them on the new name they have chosen and that is going to be Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS).

MS. LENORE ZANN: I encourage all Nova Scotians to show their support for Andrew's project by visiting cinecoup.com and casting a vote for Namas-DIE by May 8th. Thank you.
MR. SPEAKER: I just want to remind the honourable member for Truro-Bible Hill-Millbrook-Salmon River that members' statements are not to be used as a platform for advertising anything specific. Just make a note of that.

HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY: PARKING LOT - DESIGNATED SPACES
HON. STERLING BELLIVEAU: Mr. Speaker, the snowbanks are disappearing and Spring is underway. However, those who try - and I repeat, try - to park within the properly marked designated parking spaces in the House of Assembly parking lot cannot continue to blame ice and snow for their violation in having their vehicles over the lined space allowed for them.

MR. LLOYD HINES: Thank you to Donna Hochman and her team for continuing to deliver such an incredible service to our communities. Participants, I wish you much success as you embark on your next journey. Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
MR. SPEAKER: I would just like to remind the members again that members' statements are to be written in third person and not speak directly to the subject of the statement.

HON. KELLY REGAN: I do want to point out to folks in this Chamber that we have legislation before this Chamber that we could pass that would change the lives of women in this province, and that's to prohibit the use of NDAs. All of these sentiments are lovely and wonderful, but if we really care about women, we need to pass that legislation now. (Applause)

ALI DUALE: Yes, I do have a point of order. Since I joined this House, I've been observing and reflecting myself on why I made this choice to represent my constituents and to make an impact for this province in my own ability.
[Page 8010]
My point of order is: The member for Cumberland North had the opportunity to speak, to make her member statement, and she was standing and waiting to be given permission to speak. Unfortunately, as I observed, the Speaker of the House took the time to use her own time and make a statement . . .

THE SPEAKER: Before we begin the daily routine, I do want to make a Speaker's Ruling on something from yesterday. Having reviewed the guidelines and rulings of previous Speakers regarding statements by members, I must rule the two statements made by the honourable member for Cumberland North to be out of order on two grounds.
