SELECT COMMITTEE ON

ESTABLISHING AN ELECTORAL BOUNDARIES COMMISSION

7:00 P.M.

CHAIRMAN

Hon. Ross Landry

MR. LEONARD PREYRA (Chairman): I'm ready to call this meeting to order. Seeing no one here, I don't think we need to go through introductions of the Select Committee on Establishing an Electoral Boundaries Commission.

MR. JIM BOUDREAU: I think we have a motion on the floor, Mr. Chairman.

HON. CHRISTOPHER D'ENTREMONT: Do the introductions, I want the record to show I was here. (Laughter)

MR. CHAIRMAN: All right, for official purposes, we have to record members present.

HON. CHRISTOPHER D'ENTREMONT: Thank you very much, Mr. Chairman, I am Chris d'Entremont, deputé de Argyle.

MR. ANDREW YOUNGER: Andrew Younger, member for Dartmouth East.

MR. JIM BOUDREAU: Jim Boudreau, MLA for Guysborough-Sheet Harbour.

MR. GARY RAMEY: Gary Ramey, MLA for Lunenburg West.

MS. PAM BIRDSALL: Pam Birdsall, Lunenburg.

MS. KIM LANGILLE (Legislative Committee Clerk): Kim Langille, Committee Clerk.

MR. CHAIRMAN: Thank you very much. I must commend all the members for making their way out here tonight on this snowy winter evening in Port Hawkesbury, with just about every store closed down.

We do have one participant in the audience, I'm not sure if you'd like to come up and present something or say something to us . . .

MR. D'ENTREMONT: We'd love to have a chat.

MR. CHAIRMAN: But if not, we will have a brief recess and maybe you can talk to us during the recess.

We will recess for 10 minutes or so.

[7:11 p.m. The committee recessed.]

[7:22 p.m. The committee reconvened.]

MR. CHAIRMAN: I'm going to call this meeting back to order. Seeing no presenters, we're going to adjourn the meeting and leave behind a skeleton staff of people who will call us back. We'll be at the place next door in the event that someone does show up to make a presentation.

If we have agreement on that, we'll adjourn this meeting now. Thank you.

[The committee adjourned at 7:23 p.m.]
