Explanatory Note
This Bill provides coverage for the Shingrix Recombinant Zoster Vaccine for residents of the Province that are 50 years of age or older.
An Act to Amend Chapter 7
of the Acts of 2011,
the Fair Drug Pricing Act,
Respecting the Shingrix Vaccine
Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:
1 Chapter 7 of the Acts of 2011, the Fair Drug Pricing Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 10 the following Section:
- 10A (1) In this Section, "Shingrix" means the Shingrix Recombinant Zoster Vaccine.
(2) Notwithstanding subsection 10(1), Shingrix is deemed to be a benefit.
(3) Subject to subsection (4),
(a) the Minister shall provide full coverage for the cost of Shingrix for residents fifty years of age or older; and
(b) no copayment or deductible may be charged to a resident fifty years of age or older in relation to Shingrix.
(4) The money required for the purpose of this Section must be paid out of money appropriated for that purpose by the Legislature.
