Explanatory Note

This Bill removes the authority of Nova Scotia Power Incorporated to recover from a rate, charge or fee, approved by the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board, remuneration of an executive employee of Nova Scotia Power Incorporated that is prescribed by the regulations, and removes the authority of the Governor in Council to prescribe such remuneration.

the Public Utilities Act,
Respecting Executive Compensation at
Nova Scotia Power Incorporated

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the Nova Scotia Power Incorporated Executive Compensation Restriction Act.

2 Clause 64B(8)(b) of Chapter 380 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Public Utilities Act, as enacted by Chapter 41 of the Acts of 2012, is amended by striking out "except remuneration that is prescribed by the regulations," in the first and second lines.

3 Clause 118(1)(a) of Chapter 380 is repealed.
