Explanatory Note

This Bill allows the Municipal Council of the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg to grant a conservation easement respecting the common lands on Cape LaHave Island.

An Act to Amend Chapter 72
of the Acts of 1897,
the Lunenburg Common Lands Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Section 4 of Chapter 72 of the Acts of 1897, the Lunenburg Common Lands Act, as amended by Chapter 93 of the Acts of 1981 and Chapter 69 of the Acts of 1988, is further amended by adding immediately after subsection (5) the following subsection:

    (5A) Notwithstanding subsection (2), the municipal council may grant a conservation easement with respect to the common lands on Cape LaHave Island.
