Explanatory Note

This Bill prohibits the use of public funds to pay for beds that have been empty for more than five days in residential care facilities, homes for the disabled, homes for the aged or nursing homes.

An Act to Amend Chapter 203
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Homes for Special Care Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Chapter 203 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Homes for Special Care Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 18A the following Section:

    18B No public funds may be paid to a residential care facility, a home for the disabled, a home for the aged or a nursing home for beds that have been empty for more than five days.
