An Act to Provide Transparency
Respecting the Impacts of
the COVID-19 Pandemic

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the Pandemic Impact Transparency Act.

2 (1) The Department of Health and Wellness shall report at least weekly on the affects of the COVID-19 pandemic on

(a) backlogs in critical surgeries;

(b) emergency room wait times;

(c) the scheduling of other health procedures; and

(d) staff availability.

(2) The Department of Health and Wellness shall report at least weekly

(a) the number of hospitalizations resulting from COVID-19;

(b) the number of deaths attributable to COVID-19; and

(c) any other statistics or information that the Chief Medical Officer of Health considers appropriate.

(3) All reports made under subsections (1) and (2) must be made publicly available.
