Efficient Operating Rooms Accountability Act

An Act to Require Daily Reporting
on Wait-times for Surgery
1 This Act may be cited as the Efficient Operating Rooms Accountability Act.
2 The purpose of this Act is to further accountability mechanisms for surgical wait-times in the Province.
3 In this Act, "surgery" means a surgery listed in the Schedule.
4 Within 90 days of this Act coming into force, the Minister of Health and Wellness shall establish a publicly accessible website that provides each day
(a) the current wait-list time for each surgery;
(b) the benchmark established by the Wait Time Alliance operated by the Canadian Medical Association for each surgery;
(c) the number of surgeries of each type that was performed on the previous day; and
(d) how the number surgeries of each type that was performed on the previous day impacts the wait-time for that type of surgery.
