Explanatory Note
This Bill requires students in either grade 10, 11 or 12 to take a career development course and sets out subjects that the course must cover.
An Act to Amend Schedule A
of Chapter 1 of the Acts of 2018,
the Education Act
Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:
1 Schedule A of Chapter 1 of the Acts of 2018, the Education Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 25 the following Section:
- 25A (1) Every student shall in grade 10, 11 or 12 take a career development course.
(2) The career development course must give students information respecting
(b) the responsible use of credit cards;
(c) the responsible use of debit cards;
(d) the difference between credit cards and debit cards;
(e) options for loans for pursuing higher education;
(h) retirement savings, including registered retirement savings accounts and tax-free savings accounts;
