Employment Support and Income Assistance Act

This Bill amends the Employment Support and Income Assistance Act to prevent CPP survivor benefits, child disability benefits and the Canada child benefit payments paid with respect to a dependent child from being deducted from the income support paid to an applicant or recipient.
An Act to Amend Chapter 27
of the Acts of 2000,
the Employment Support and Income Assistance Act,
to Protect Children's Benefits
1 Chapter 27 of the Acts of 2000, the Employment Support and Income Assistance Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 7 the following Section:
- 7A (1) Subject to subsection (2), a survivor benefit under the Canada Pension Plan, a child disability benefit or a Canada child benefit payable with respect to the dependent child of an applicant or recipient may not be considered when determining eligibility for assistance or the amount of assistance an applicant or recipient is entitled to receive.
