Explanatory Note

This Bill provides authority for the Municipality of the District of Barrington to make a grant to, and enter into an agreement with, a person who is studying in Canada or elsewhere to become a health professional.

An Act to Amend Chapter 22
of the Acts of 2001,
the District of Barrington Health
Professionals Assistance Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Clause 2(c) of Chapter 22 of the Acts of 2001, the District of Barrington Health Professionals Assistance Act, is amended by

(a) striking out "or" at the end of subclause (ii);

(b) striking out the semicolon at the end of subclause (iii) and substituting ", or"; and

(c) adding immediately after subclause (iii) the following subclause:

(iv) a student enrolled in a health profession program at a public or private college or university, in Canada or elsewhere, that provides education and training for persons studying to become health professionals as described in subclause (i), (ii) or (iii) and is recognized by the licensing authority in the Province that governs that health profession;
