An Act to Provide for
Defraying Certain Charges and Expenses
of the Public Service of the Province

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the Appropriations Act, 2011.

2 The several sums of money hereinafter stated are granted to Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor for the purpose of defraying the undermentioned several charges and expenses of the public service for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2012:

Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage 55,100,000

Department of Community Services 985,084,000

Department of Economic and Rural Development

3 The said several sums shall be paid by the Minister of Finance subject to the provisions of the statutes in that behalf out of the moneys that are applicable to the several purposes for which the said several sums are granted.

4 In addition to borrowing authorized by other enactments, the Minister of Finance is authorized to borrow, for the purpose of and in accordance with the Finance Act, the sum of $1,250,000,000 for the public service, by any means and from any source, for a term greater than three hundred sixty-five days, either before or after the expiration of the 2011-12 fiscal year.

5 This Act has effect on and after April 1, 2011.
