Explanatory Note

This Bill provides that Nova Scotia long service medals for police officer s or other persons involved in the provision of police services are to be given after 15 and after 25 years of service.

An Act to Amend Chapter 31
of the Acts of 2004,
the Police Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Subsection 43A(1) of Chapter 31 of the Acts of 2004, the Police Act, as enacted by Chapter 10 of the Acts of 2007, is amended by adding "after fifteen years of service and after twenty-five years of service" immediately after "service" in the last line.
