Explanatory Note

This Bill amends the Provincial Finance Act to require the Minister of Finance to table a report setting out all departmental write-offs of more than one thousand dollars with the Public Accounts for a fiscal year.

An Act to Amend Chapter 365
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Provincial Finance Act,
Respecting Write-offs

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Chapter 365 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Provincial Finance Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 10 the following Section:

10A The Public Accounts referred to in Section 10 must be accompanied by a report prepared by the Deputy Minister setting out all write-offs of more than one thousand dollars made by all departments for the fiscal year to which the Public Accounts relate.
