Explanatory Note

This Bill changes the application fee for obtaining access to a record under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act from $25 to $5.

An Act to Amend Chapter 5
of the Acts of 1993,
the Freedom of Information
and Protection of Privacy Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Subsection 11(1) of Chapter 5 of the Acts of 1993, the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, is repealed and the following subsection substituted:

(1) An applicant who makes a request for access to a record pursuant to subsection (1) of Section 6 shall pay to the public body an application fee in the amount of five dollars.
