Explanatory Note

This Bill adds a time limit within which the Governor in Council must decide whether or not to approve a health-services business plan.

An Act to Amend Chapter 6
of the Acts of 2000,
the Health Authorities Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Section 59 of Chapter 6 of the Acts of 2000, the Health Authorities Act, is amended by adding immediately after subsection (3) the following subsection:

(3A) Where the Governor in Council approves a health-services business plan pursuant to subsection (3), the approval must be made before March 31st of the fiscal year for which the plan is prepared.
