Explanatory Note

This Bill entitles employees to a rest period of at least 36 consecutive hours every seven days.

An Act to Amend Chapter 246
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Labour Standards Code,
to Provide Employees a
Longer Weekly Period of Rest

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows: 1 Subsection 66(2) of Chapter 246 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Labour Standards Code, as enacted by Chapter 14 of the Acts of 1991, is amended by striking out "twenty-four" in the fourth line and substituting "thirty-six".

2 Subsection 67(1) of Chapter 246 is amended by striking out "day" in the fourth line and substituting "period".
