Explanatory Note

This Bill provides that the unproclaimed amendment to the Education Act, enabling a school board to make school facilities available free of charge to community youth groups or other groups designated by the Minister of Education, comes into force no later than 180 days after this Bill receives Royal Assent and requires the Minister to establish the necessary policy to implement the amendment.

of the Acts of 1995-96,
the Education Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Section 2 of Chapter 12 of the Acts of 2004, An Act to Amend Chapter 1 of the Acts of 1995-96, the Education Act, is repealed and the following Section substituted:

2 This Act comes into force 180 days after this Section comes into force or such earlier day as the Governor in Council orders and declares by proclamation.

2 The Minister of Education shall, within 180 days of this Act coming into force, establish the policy referred to in Section 64C of the Education Act.
