Explanatory Note
This Bill provides that no reduction shall be made of any amount awarded to a student by reason of the income or assets of the student's parent, step-parent, guardian, spouse, common-law spouse or any relative upon whom the student is considered to be dependent.
An Act to Amend Chapter 449
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Student Aid Act
17 (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, no reduction, alteration or amendment shall be made of any amount awarded to a student by reason of the income or assets of the student's parent, step-parent, guardian, spouse, common-law spouse or any other relative upon whom the student is considered to be dependent.(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to rules or regulations attached to a federal government program aimed at improving access to post-secondary education.
