Explanatory Note

This Bill removes from the Human Rights Act the exemption for mandatory retirement from the prohibitions against discrimination.

An Act to Amend Chapter 214
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Human Rights Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows: 1 Section 6 of Chapter 214 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Human Rights Act, as enacted by Chapter 12 of the Acts of 1991, is amended by (a) adding "that does not include mandatory retirement" immediately after "plan" in the third line of clause (g); and(b) striking out clause (h).
