Explanatory Note

This Bill requires the Governor in Council to make regulations pursuant to the Health Authorities Act exempting from parking fees or costs organizations transporting people with disabilities who have been determined to be eligible for Community Transportation Assistance Program funding.

An Act to Amend Chapter 6
of the Acts of 2000,
the Health Authorities Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows: 1 (1) Section 84 of Chapter 6 of the Acts of 2000, the Health Authorities Act, is amended by adding immediately after subsection (1) the following subsection:

(1A) The Governor in Council shall make regulations

(a) designating for the purpose of this subsection organizations that transport people with disabilities who have been determined to be eligible for Community Transportation Assistance Program funding;

(b) designating for the purpose of this subsection parking fees and other parking costs at facilities of health authorities; and

(c) notwithstanding any enactment, exempting designated organizations from designated parking fees and other designated parking costs.

(2) Subsection 84(5) of Chapter 6 is amended by adding "or (1A)" immediately after "(1)" in the second line.
