Explanatory Note

This Bill requires audited financial statements of the M.S.I. Plan to disclose, or the disclosure as authorized by regulations of, the name of every person who receives $50,000 or more in a fiscal year for providing services to insured persons under the Plan and the amount paid to each.

An Act to Amend Chapter 197
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Health Services and Insurance Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Chapter 197 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Health Services and Insurance Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 16 the following Section:

16A For each fiscal year of the Government ending on or after March 31, 2004, the Minister shall cause to be disclosed in audited financial statements of the M.S.I. Plan, or in any other manner authorized in the regulations, the name of every person who receives fifty thousand dollars or more in the fiscal year for providing services to insured persons under the Plan and the amount paid to each.

2 Subsection 17(2) of Chapter 197 is amended by adding immediately after clause (f) the following clause:

(g) respecting disclosure pursuant to Section 16A;
