Explanatory Note
This Bill adds regulation-making authority to make a regulation respecting the delivery of Applied Behavioural Analysis Therapy to children with autism as an insured professional service.
An Act to Amend Chapter 197
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Health Services and Insurance Act
1 Subsection 17(2) of Chapter 197 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Health Services and Insurance Act, as amended by Chapter 20 of the Acts of 1992, is further amended by adding immediately after clause (mb) the following clause:
(mc) respecting the delivery of Applied Behavioural Analysis Therapy through a plan approved by the Department to children aged six and under with autism as an insured professional service;
2 The moneys required to implement a regulation made pursuant to clause 17(2)(mc) of the Health Services and Insurance Act shall be paid out of moneys appropriated for that purpose by the Legislature and, for greater certainty, no such regulation may be implemented until the moneys are appropriated by the Legislature.
