Explanatory Note
This Bill implements the report of the Chief Electoral Officer respecting an adjustment in the boundary between the electoral districts of Bedford and Waverley-Fall River-Beaver Bank.
An Act to Amend Chapter 1
(1992 Supplement)
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the House of Assembly Act
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 5A of the House of Assembly Act, the Chief Electoral Officer has made a report recommending changes in the boundaries for the electoral districts of Bedford and Waverley-Fall River-Beaver Bank that, in the opinion of the Chief Electoral Officer, would improve the administration of elections in those electoral districts;
AND WHEREAS, as required by Section 5A, the changes recommended do not alter the number of electors in those electoral districts by more than three hundred as reckoned using the most recent voters' lists;
AND WHEREAS, as required by Section 5A, the report has been tabled in the House of Assembly;
THEREFORE be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:
1 Section 4 of Chapter 1 (1992 Supplement) of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the House of Assembly Act, as enacted by Chapter 34 of the Acts of 2002, is amended by:
(a) striking out "Road; then southwest along Rocky Lake Road approximately 3.1 km" in the sixth and seventh last lines of clause (d) and substituting " Drive; then southwest along Rocky Lake Drive approximately 1.8 km to the Canadian National Railway line; then southwest along the Canadian National Railway line approximately 1.4 km "; and
(b) striking out "Road; then northeast along Rocky Lake Road approximately 3.1 km" in the fifth and sixth lines of subclause (aya)(i) and substituting "Drive; then northeast along the Canadian National Railway line approximately 1.4 km to Rocky Lake Drive; then northeast along Rocky Lake Drive approximately 1.8 km".
2 This Act has effect on and after the dissolution or determination by the effluxion of time of the present House of Assembly.
