Explanatory Note

This Bill adds the office of Second Vice-President to the offices of the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities.

An Act to Amend Chapter 103
of the Acts of 1981,
the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Subsection 6(1) of Chapter 103 of the Acts of 1981, the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities Act, is repealed and the following subsection substituted:

(1) At the Annual Conference the Union shall elect a President and a First Vice-President, who shall have served at least one year on the Executive Committee, a Second Vice-President and a Secretary-Treasurer.

2 Subsection 7(1) of Chapter 103, as enacted by Chapter 76 of the Acts of 1992, is amended by striking out "Vice-President" in the second line and substituting "First and Second Vice-Presidents".
