Explanatory Note

This Bill requires all directions and guidelines given by the Government to the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation to be in writing and to be published.

An Act to Amend Chapter 4
of the Acts of 1994-95,
the Gaming Control Act, to
Require the Publication of
Directions and Guidelines to the
Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Section 9 of Chapter 4 of the Acts of 1994-95, the Gaming Control Act, is amended by adding "(1)" immediately after the Section number and adding the following subsection:

(2) Any direction or guideline issued to the Corporation by Her Majesty in right of the Province shall be in writing and the Corporation shall cause the direction or guideline to be published as soon as practicable in the Royal Gazette.

(3) In subsection (2), Her Majesty in right of the Province includes the Minister or any other person acting on behalf of Her Majesty.
