An Act to Prohibit Any Participation
by the Government of Nova Scotia
in Respect of the Operation of the
Canadian Firearms Registration System

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the Canadian Firearms Registration System Act.

2 (1) Notwithstanding any federal or Provincial enactment, the Government of the Province shall not expend or use any moneys or resources of Her Majesty in right of the Province for the administration or enforcement of the Canadian Firearms Registration System established pursuant to the Firearms Act (Canada).

(2) For greater certainty,

(a) no designation of a "provincial minister" shall be made in respect of the Province by the Governor in Council pursuant to the Firearms Act (Canada); and

(b) this Act applies notwithstanding any entitlement to a contribution to or reimbursement of Her Majesty in right of the Province for any such expenditure or use.
