Following the 2012 Electoral Boundary Commission review, Cape Breton South expanded northward to include Sydney and Whitney Pier are from Cape Breton Nova. It lost Sydney River, Prime Brook, and Mira Road aras to Sydney River - Mira - Louisbourg; the west area to Northside-Westmount; the Cosheath area to Sydney River - Mira - Louisbourg.
