MR. HOUSTON: When you would see a member opposite make a statement, you'll see a resounding round of applause from a group of what can be best described often as hypnotized chickens. We need . . .

MR. SPEAKER: Order, please. The honourable member will retract that statement as he will retract the statement about baloney earlier. I did not hear you retract that.

The honourable member for Pictou East has the floor.

MR. HOUSTON: Thank you, Mr. Speaker. I retract the use of that very fine sandwich meat, baloney, and also my use of the phrase "hypnotized chickens."

MR. GARY BURRILL:  I want to give answer first to the contention in the Speech that it is appropriate in any way to use the word "opportunity" as this government is, in fact, using that word in that Speech to describe the dirty work of June 25th, Black Monday for health care in Cape Breton; June 25th, the announcement of the . . .

MR. SPEAKER: Order, please. I'd like to remind the honourable member that the phrase "dirty work" would be an unparliamentary term.

The honourable Leader of the New Democratic Party.

HON. CHRISTOPHER D'ENTREMONT: This morning, Mr. Speaker, when it comes to Right to Know Week, the members of the Public Accounts Committee orchestrated what I feel to be an unprecedented, anti-democratic, sneaky and shameful manoeuvre to ?. (Interruption)

MR. SPEAKER: Order, please. I would like to remind the honourable member the word sneaky is unparliamentary. I would ask him to retract that.

The honourable member for Argyle-Barrington.

MR. D'ENTREMONT: I will retract the word sneaky.

MS. PAON: Mr. Speaker, Cape Breton-Richmond and the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society and the families who are here today need a plan. They need an investment. They need an answer. Again on April 17th, the Premier stated, "The honourable member would know there have been no dedicated palliative care beds in the Strait Richmond Hospital."

We know that. That's the problem. I tabled a plan on their behalf to change that.

MS. ZANN:The chairperson of the Canadian Federation of Students has called the minister's opposition to legislative changes, "liberal hypocrisy at its finest." I will table that.

My question for the minister, again, is: Why won't he just take legislative action to address sexual violence on campus, as students have been requesting and demanding for so long now?

MR. EDDIE ORRELL: Mr. Speaker, I think the new math initiatives in schools should be taught to the Minister of Health and Wellness. One leaves, one comes - that's not new recruitment.

Mr. Speaker, the government has no idea what they're doing when it comes to health care services in Cape Breton. Time and time again, I have risen in this House on behalf of the great people of Northside-Westmount to bring their health care concerns to the floor of the Legislature to a tone-deaf government. I have highlighted the issues facing our people . . . .

TAMMY MARTIN: We don't need somebody to come in on Black Monday, June 25th, after a colleague from the Opposition called me Sunday night at nine o'clock to ask me if I knew about this announcement. How dare this government come into our community and not inform us prior. That is a disgrace, Mr. Speaker. You know what? It's just part of this dictatorship we have going on right now . . . .

MR. SPEAKER: Order, please. I would like to remind the honourable member for Cape Breton Centre the word "dictatorship" is an unparliamentary term. I'll ask her to retract that.
