THE CHAIR: Order. I call this meeting to order. This is the Standing Committee on Human Resources. I’m Chris Palmer, MLA for Kings West and the Chair of the committee. Today, we’ll review appointments to agencies, boards and commissions. As per our Summer schedule, there will be no topic discussion today.

 

I’d also like to ask everybody to please put your phones on silent, and I’d like to ask all committee members to introduce themselves for the record by stating their name and their constituency beginning with Vice Chair Burns.

THE CHAIR: For the purposes of Hansard, I also recognize the presence of Legislative Counsel Genevieve Harvey and Legislative Committee Clerk Robin Dann. Welcome, Robin. At this point, we’ll now move on to our agencies, boards and commissions. I’d like to look for a motion to begin that.

RICK BURNS: For the first motion, for the Department of Advanced Education, I move to recommend Bethany Moffatt be appointed Member to the Acadia University Board of Governors.

RICK BURNS: For the Department of Advanced Education, I move to recommend Paul Emile LeBlanc be appointed Member to the Université Sainte-Anne Board of Governors.

DANNY MACGILLIVRAY: For the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, I move to recommend Darren Desmond be appointed Member, Cape Breton, to the Council on African Canadian Education.
