Explanatory Note
This Bill amends the Consumer Protection Act to authorize the Governor in Council to make regulations imposing restrictions, including the regulation or prohibition of expiry dates on goods, including gift certificates or gift cards, that can be exchanged or redeemed for good or services.
An Act to Amend Chapter 92
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Consumer Protection Act
1 Section 33 of Chapter 92 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Consumer Protection Act, is amended by adding immediately after clause (c) the following clause:
(d) imposing restrictions, including the regulation or prohibition of expiry dates on goods, including gift certificates or gift cards, that are exchangeable or redeemable for goods or services;
