An Act to Require the Payment
of a Royalty on the Bottling of Water

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the Water Royalty Act.

2 In this Act, "water" means fresh water, regardless of its source.

3 Every person who bottles water in the Province for sale in the Province or elsewhere shall pay to Her Majesty in right of the Province a royalty as determined by the regulations.

4 (1) The Governor in Council may make regulations

(a) determining a royalty based upon volume of water bottled;

(b) defining any word or expression used but not defined in this Act;

(c) respecting any other matter that the Governor in Council considers necessary or advisable to carry out effectively the purpose of this Act.

(2) The exercise by the Governor in Council of the authority contained in subsection (1) is regulations within the meaning of the Regulations Act.
