Clause 1 entitles employees to a rest period of at least 36 consecutive hours every seven days.

Clauses 2 and 3 entitle employees to at least 30 minutes rest after every five consecutive hours of work.

An Act to Amend Chapter 246
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Labour Standards Code

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Subsection 66(2) of Chapter 246 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Labour Standards Code, as enacted by Chapter 14 of the Acts of 1991, is amended by striking out "twenty-four" in the fourth line and substituting "thirty-six". 2 Chapter 246 is further amended by adding immmediately after Section 66 the following Section:
66A An employer shall provide an employee a rest or eating period of at least one-half hour at intervals such that as a result no employee works longer than five consecutive hours without a rest or eating period.
3 Subsection 67(1) of Chapter 246 is amended by adding "or a period of rest in accordance with Section 66A" immediately after "66" in the fourth line.
