Explanatory Note

This Bill amends the provisions relating to the payment of a deceased recipient's allowance to their spouse and dependants under the Members' Retiring Allowances Act to make them the same as those provided under the Public Service Superannuation Act.

of the Revised Statutes, 1989
th Members' Retiring Allowances Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Subsection 13(1) of Chapter 282 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Members' Retiring Allowances Act is amended by

(a) striking out "sixty" in the first and in the fourth lines of clause (c) and substituting in each case "sixty-six and two-thirds";

(b) striking out "forty" in the eighteenth line of clause (d) and substituting "thirty-three and one-third"; and

(c) striking out "sixty" in the twentieth line of clause (d) and substituting "sixty-six and two-thirds".
