October 27, 1814

"Whereas it has pleased Almighty God, in His great goodness, to put an end to the long extended and bloody Warfare in which his Majesty was engaged against France and Her Allies ... I do ... issue this Proclamation ... appointing .. that a General Thanksgiving, to Almighty God, for these His Mercies, be observed throughout his Majesty's Province of Nova Scotia, on Thursday, the Twenty-Seventh of October next;" was proclaimed on September 1, 1814.
