2010-04-27_1406_SR: Difference between member

HON. MICHEL SAMSON: Mr. Speaker, on a point of order. During Question Period, in reply to a question, the Premier indicated that it had never been brought to his attention regarding issues with the Human Resources Committee and the lack of disclosure that has been available to members of that committee. I'd like to provide the Premier, just to refresh his memory, a copy of Hansard, September 29, 2009, in which I raised that very issue with him.

2010-04-22_1204_SR: Oral question on bill allowed

HON. KAREN CASEY: Mr. Speaker, my question through you is to the Premier. On December 8th of last year the Premier, in an interview with CTV's Steve Murphy, indicated that a time would come to "put a cost on carbon". The announcement today was to create a voluntary carbon offset fund - an Act to Establish the Nova Scotia Voluntary Carbon Emissions Offset Fund, is what I'm referring to. My question to the Premier is, when will voluntary become mandatory?

2010-04-22_1223_PO: Estimates hours

HON. MURRAY SCOTT: Mr. Speaker, just on a point of order, I was just made aware by the Attorney General that his estimates are still continuing on for tomorrow and he just made me aware that there's a funeral in his constituency that he would like to go to. So I'm wondering if the House would agree - we would have to have unanimous consent - that we could actually have the minister's estimates in the morning for wrapping up or closing off, probably from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., which would let him then continue on.

2010-04-21_1112_MS: Sub judice

MR. ALFIE MACLEOD: Mr. Speaker, my question is for the Minister responsible for the Resource Recovery Fund Board. Earlier this session, the member for Victoria-The Lakes asked, ". . . which rural town will be the next to feel the wrath of this government's policies?" Now, we have the answer - it is Lincolnville, Guysborough.

2010-04-14_761_MS: Statement retracted

HON. KAREN CASEY: Mr. Speaker, with your indulgence and the indulgence of the House I wish to make a statement. I want to provide clarification around a remark I made in this House yesterday during Oral Question Period. The honourable member for Clare asked questions of the Minister of Finance in English, and the minister responded in French only. When I rose to start the next question, I suggested I would ask a question everyone would understand.

2010-04-08_602_SS: Unparliamentary language

MR. D'ENTREMONT: Mr. Speaker, the Premier was not crystal clear, as a matter of fact, probably everybody at that meeting had heard him say something completely different.

Mr. Speaker, we heard a lot of doublespeak there, we heard a lot of spinning, so I guess that the commitment that he made yesterday had only a tail-light warranty and that once he was clear of the county that it was no longer valid. So why did you intentionally mislead Mayor Mooney and the other councillors?

2010_04-07_530_SS: Unparliamentary language

MR. LEO GLAVINE: Mr. Speaker, shut him up!

MR. SPEAKER: Order, order please. The honourable member for Kings West, that's unparliamentary and I will ask you to retract that right away.

MR. GLAVINE: I will retract the comment, but please, let the person on the floor speak.

MR. SPEAKER: The honourable member for Kings West, the Speaker is in charge of the order in this House and I will determine when I will call order.

2010-04-06_411_SS: Use of first names

MR. MACLEOD: Mr. Speaker, during the election the Premier made promises and committed to support the railroad and the dredge of the harbour. Now both seem to be in

question and the community is looking for genuine leadership to address these two top regional priorities. My question to the Premier is, what happened between the campaign trail and the Cabinet Room or is this another Darrell in Wonderland excuse?
