In 2013 following the recommendation of the Electoral Boundaries Commission, this district was renamed from Guysborough Sheet Harbour and it gained the area of east of the Tracadie River from Antigonish. It was renamed by SNS 2013 Ch 21 Guysborough-Eastern Shore-Tracadie.
