MR. SPEAKER: Order, please. Before we start the daily routine, the subject matter for late debate has been chosen, and I will read it:

Therefore be it resolved that a week ago the Liberal Party showed how much they are job killers with no plan or vision when, as well as opposing thousands of new jobs for young Nova Scotians, the Liberal contribution to legislative debate on the future of the Bowater Mersey forest lands was to state they would say nothing until there was a government announcement, then criticize.

It was submitted by the honourable member for Queens.

MR. CLARRIE MACKINNON: I just want to reiterate that this side of the House has real leadership as we go into the future. We are not looking at the Headless Horsemen on the other side of the aisle, Mr. Speaker, and that just came to mind, looking at them. Thank you.

MR. SPEAKER: Excuse me. Before I recognize the honourable member for Hants West, I would suggest that "Headless Horsemen" is probably not parliamentary language. I would ask the member for Pictou East to retract that statement.

2012-11-01_2997_SR: Disagreement between members

HON. MICHEL SAMSON: Mr. Speaker, on a point of order. Yesterday during Question Period, the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal advised the House that he would be providing the name of who was responsible for the lease that was signed for the new office in Shelburne. Since the minister told the House that he would be providing us with that information, I'm wondering if the minister will take the opportunity now to do exactly as he advised the House yesterday.

MR. SPEAKER: The honourable Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal.

MADAM SPEAKER: Order, please. The honourable member is not allowed to use the terminology "influence peddling". I would ask you to retract that terminology - rephrase it.

MR. MORTON: I'll retract that phrase. Madam Speaker, I'd like to table an article, nonetheless, from the Charlottetown Guardian, from June 1999, to remind the Leader of the Official Opposition and to remind, in fact, all Nova Scotians that the Liberal Party's track record on economic development is questionable, at best.

2012-10-30_2765_SR: Emergency debate

HON. DARRELL DEXTER: Mr. Speaker, I would ask that you now consider and rule on my request from a letter I sent to your office earlier today regarding an urgent debate for the support of the Lower Churchill project. This afternoon the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador released sanctioned information for the Lower Churchill project. I would suggest that this new information makes it even more urgent that all members of the Legislature offer their continued support for these important projects.

2012-10-25_2566_SR: Disagreement between members

MR. ZACH CHURCHILL: Mr. Speaker, on a point of order. The member for Hammonds Plains-Upper Sackville is levelling a lot of unfounded accusations at this caucus. All I would ask is that the member opposite provide any sort of documentation that can help prove his point. You can't just make things up in this House of Assembly and expect people to believe it. (Interruptions) Table the documents, then. If you believe it, table the documents.

MR. SPEAKER: Order, please. Order. That is not a point of order. That is a disagreement between two members.

2012-10-25_2549_SS: Withdrawal of unparliamentary remarks

THE PREMIER: Mr. Speaker, in just a second I'm going to table this. This is actually - I guess it's a letter that came from the member for Argyle. It's called "PC position on deviation of average number of electors per constituency" He says, "In regards to the plus or minus 20%, we will have to disagree with you on this point. It is our feeling that plus or minus 25% needs to stay in the 2012 terms of reference."

2012-04-04-0259_SR: Emergency debate

HON. JAMIE BAILLIE: Mr. Speaker, I hereby give notice, as per Rule 43(2), that the business of the House be set aside for the purpose of discussing a matter of urgent public importance. As per the rule I sent you a copy of my request earlier today, and in accordance with Rule 43(1), we request that the emergency debate take place at the moment of interruption.

2012-04-02_0124_SS: Unparliamentary language

HON. CHRISTOPHER D'ENTREMONT: Maybe the Minister of Justice over there, I kind of like him, he's okay, I'm not going to say much about him, but the Minister of Community Services right now, I can't believe that she's there barking away, that she's over there yelling these things across. She has no foundation in any of those accusations - absolutely none - so I can't imagine why she continues to do that. Put the headphones on and ignore me like you normally do - that's what you do to the rest of the people in this House of Assembly, which is absolutely shameful.
