Explanatory Note

This Bill extends the equity tax credit to 2022.

An Act to Amend Chapter 3
of the Acts of 1993,
the Equity Tax Credit Act

1 Section 2 of Chapter 3 of the Acts of 1993, the Equity Tax Credit Act, as amended by Chapter 2 of the Acts of 1995, Chapter 3 of the Acts of 1997, Chapter 4 of the Acts of 2000, Chapter 3 of the Acts of 2001, Chapter 4 of the Acts of 2003, Chapter 6 of the Acts of 2005, Chapter 2 of the Acts of 2006 and Chapter 5 of the Acts of 2009, is further amended by striking out "twenty-ninth day of February, 2012" in the fourth and fifth lines of subclause (h)(i), in the second and third lines of subclause (h)(ii) and in the fourth and fifth lines of clause (j) and substituting in each case "twenty-eighth day of February, 2022".

2 Clause 6(1)(a) of Chapter 3 of the Acts of 1993, the Equity Tax Credit Act, as enacted by Chapter 4 of the Acts of 2000 and amended by Chapter 3 of the Acts of 2001, Chapter 4 of the Acts of 2003, Chapter 2 of the Acts of 2006 and Chapter 5 of the Acts of 2009, is further amended by striking out "twenty-ninth day of February, 2012" in the sixth and seventh lines and substituting "twenty-eighth day of February, 2022".

3 Subsection 8(1) of Chapter 3, as amended by Chapter 2 of the Acts of 1995, Chapter 4 of the Acts of 2000 and Chapter 5 of the Acts of 2009, is further amended by striking out "2012" in the ninth line and substituting "2022".

4 Subsection 15(1) of Chapter 3, as amended by Chapter 3 of the Acts of 2001, Chapter 4 of the Acts of 2003, Chapter 3 of the Acts of 2004 and Chapter 5 of the Acts of 2009, is further amended by striking out "twenty-ninth day of February, 2012" in the second line and substituting "twenty-eighth day of February, 2022".

5 Clause 18(1)(b) of Chapter 3, as enacted by Chapter 3 of the Acts of 2004 and amended by Chapter 5 of the Acts of 2009, is further amended by striking out "2012" in the eighth line and substituting "2022".
