Explanatory Note

This Bill prohibits

(a) the extension of casino hours;

(b) the provision of free alcoholic drinks to casino gamblers; and

(c) the provision of credit to casino gamblers.

An Act to Amend Chapter 4
of the Acts of 1994-95,
the Gaming Control Act, to
Prohibit the Extension of
Casino Hours or the Provision
of Free Drinks and of Credit
to Casino Gamblers

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Chapter 4 of the Acts of 1994-95, the Gaming Control Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 25 the following Section:

25A (1) Notwithstanding clause 127(1)(ad), a casino shall not be open for more than sixteen hours on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

(2) No person shall serve or provide complimentary liquor in a casino.

(3) A casino operator shall not, directly or indirectly, grant credit to or make loans to, or facilitate the granting of credit to or the making of loans to, individuals playing games of chance in a casino.

2 Clause 127(1)(al) of Chapter 4 is repealed.
