An Act to Amend Chapter 211
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Housing Act,
and Chapter 213
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Housing Nova Scotia Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Section 2 of Chapter 211 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Housing Act, is amended by

(a) striking out clauses (b) and (c) and substituting the following clause:

and

(b) striking out "Housing" in clause (f) and substituting "Community Services".

2 Subsection 4(2) of Chapter 211 is amended by

(a) striking out "Deputy Minister" in the second line and substituting "Chief Executive Officer";

(b) striking out "the Department" in the second line of clause (a) and substituting "Housing Nova Scotia"; and

(c) striking out "Deputy Minister" in the second and third lines of clause (b) and substituting "Chief Executive Officer".

3 Clause 2(b) of Chapter 213 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Housing Nova Scotia Act, is repealed.

4 Chapter 213 is further amended by adding immediately after Section 2 the following Section:

5 Subsection 3(2) of Chapter 213 is amended by

(a) striking out "Deputy Minister" in the second line and substituting "Chief Executive Officer"; and

(b) striking out clause (b) and substituting the following clause:

6 Subsection 4(1) of Chapter 213 is amended by adding "other than the Chief Executive Officer" immediately after "persons" in the first line.

7 This Act comes into force on such day as the Governor in Council orders and declares by proclamation.
