An Act to Amend Chapter 12
of the Acts of 1993,
the Social Workers Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Section 12 of Chapter 12 of the Acts of 1993, the Social Workers Act, is amended by adding immediately after subsection (3) the following subsection:

2 Subsection 15(5) of Chapter 12 is amended by striking out "third" in the second line and substituting "fourth".

3 Clause 22(2)(c) of Chapter 12, as amended by Chapter 19 of the Acts of 2001, is further amended by adding "and who has completed at least two years of experience that, in the opinion of the Board, demonstrates competence in the field of social work" immediately after "(b)" in the last line.

4 Clause 24(a) of Chapter 12 is amended by adding "or satisfies the Board that the applicant has successfully completed all the requirements for such a degree or diploma" immediately after "work" in the third line.

5 This Act comes into force on such day as the Governor in Council orders and declares by proclamation.
