Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Section 5 of Chapter 12 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Amusement Devices Safety Act, is amended by adding immediately after subsection (2) the following subsection:

(3) Inspectors have the powers, authorities and immunities of a peace officer.

2 Section 13 of Chapter 12 is amended by adding immediately after subsection (1) the following subsection:

(1A) A direction made under clause (b) of subsection (1) may be made orally and be effective immediately.

3 Subsection 18(1) of Chapter 12 is repealed and the following subsection substituted:

(1) Every person who violates any provision of this Act or the regulations or any direction, order or notice made under this Act or the regulations is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a penalty of

(a) in the case of an individual, a fine of, not more than five thousand dollars or a term of imprisonment of up to six months or both; and

(b) in the case of a corporation, a fine of not more than two hundred thousand dollars.

4 Clause 20(1)(k) of Chapter 12 is amended by adding ", in the case of liability insurance, an amount not less than one million dollars," immediately after "amount" in the first line.

5 This Act comes into force on such day as the Governor in Council orders and declares by proclamation.
