An Act Respecting the Sale of Certain Land
by the Municipality of the County of Richmond
and to Exempt the St. Peter's and Area
Lions Club from Municipal Taxes
with Respect to Such Lands

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the St. Peter's and Area Lions Club Lands Act.

2 In this Act,

(a) "Club" means the St. Peter's and Area Lions Club, incorporated pursuant to the Societies Act;

(b) "lands" means those lands at St Peter's, in the County of Richmond, that were, immediately before the coming into force of this Act, leased to the Club by the Municipality;

(c) "Municipality" means the Municipality of the County of Richmond.

3 Notwithstanding any enactment,

(a) the Municipality may sell and convey the lands to the Club for the consideration of one dollar; and

(b) the lands are exempt from taxation imposed by the Municipality for general municipal purposes, beginning with the municipal taxation year during which the lands are conveyed by the Municipality to the Club, as long as

(i) the lands are assessed to the Club for general municipal taxation purposes,

(ii) the Club is in possession of the lands,

(iii) the Club is a non-profit organization, and

(iv) the lands are not used for profit or gain.
