An Act to Exempt the Centre Culturel
Communautaire de L'Ile Madame "La Picasse"
from Municipal Taxes Levied by the
Municipality of the County of Richmond
with Respect to Certain Property at Petit de Gras

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as La Picasse Tax Exemption Act.

2 In this Act, "Society" means the Centre Culturel Communautaire de L'Ile Madame "La Picasse", incorporated pursuant to the Societies Act.

3 Notwithstanding any enactment, all property located at Petit de Gras, in the County of Richmond, that is now assessed for municipal taxation purposes to the Society is exempt from taxes imposed by the Municipality of the County of Richmond for general municipal purposes, beginning with the municipal taxation year during which this Act comes into force, as long as

(a) the property is assessed to the Society for general municipal taxation purposes;

(b) the Society is in possession of the property;

(c) the Society is a non-profit organization; and

(d) the property is used as a community, cultural and educational facility and not for profit or gain.
